A birth injury, which is also referred to as birth trauma, is an injury that occurs to the baby as a result of complications during delivery. A birth injury can range from mild to severe. Breech delivery is a common cause of birth injuries. The baby is supposed to come out head first. A breech delivery occurs when the legs or buttocks are presented first.
