CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT STATISTICS
According to a 2019 report issued by Colorado’s Department of Public Health & Environment, there were 19 fatalities in the construction industry in 2017, with 12 fatalities in 2016. Further, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported about 195,600 construction-related injuries in 2018. The construction industry was the sixth-highest industry for workplace injuries. In 2018, the rate of construction site accidents was about three cases per 100 full-time workers. Finally, construction-related injuries accounted for the second-most median days away from work, with the highest incidence rate for injuries requiring in-patient overnight hospitalizations.John (Jack) Zinda
