Construction sites can be hazardous with construction work being one of the most dangerous jobs in the United States. Fatalities for construction workers are the third highest in the United States with 15.2 deaths per 100,000 workers. Only two other industries having a higher fatality rate than construction: mining and agriculture. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the fatality rate for other occupations was only 3 per every 100,000 workers from 2010-2012.
